HOPE STREET MINISTRY (APRIL 2014)

As part of our street ministry outreach, we have a day called ASPIRE TO INSPIRE. It is a time when we open the Street Ministry to various groups to come and volunteer their time and effort in assisting us to reach the homeless people that we serve. In April, we had a team, DV8 CREW (Christ Rules in Every Way) - that gave their time to minister to our friends.

The program began with a time of worship where everyone lifted their voices to praise and worship God. This was followed by the message that was shared by Ps. Jacqueline. It was on relating colours to the work of God in our life. We helped them understand how BLACK represents sin in our life and how only the blood of Christ represented by RED can wash of the stain of sin and make us WHITE as snow. Af ter that we laid hands and prayed for all who were present.

We also gave out free spectacles to all those who had their eyes checked the last time and had a need to wear glasses to improve their vision. A total of 19 pairs of spectacles were given out. We thank God for His provision!

For our community service, this time we had MEDIVIRON UOA that came forward to offer a health checkup. A team of 3 representatives came and conducted the test for all our street friends. The readings that were obtained showed their Body Mass Index (BMI), percentage of fat in the body, the age of the body in relation to their actual age and many other readings. After the tests were done, the doctor on hand provided an in-depth explanation to everyone about the results of their examination. All of us listened attentively and it was a time of gaining knowledge as well as knowing what could be done to improve on the results. MEDIVIRON UOA also gave out free gift packs to all who were present.

The DV8 CREW then took over and gave everyone a time of fun and laughter. It began with a dance presentation by the youths that were part of the team. After the food was handed out, there were games that they got our friends involved in. As everyone participated, there was a sense of joy and happiness in the atmosphere. The games of course had winners and eack of the winners were presented with gifts.

We thank God for everyone that came forward and lent a hand to the work that we are undertaking. ASPIRE TO INSPIRE is open to anyone who wants to volunteer their time and effort towards this ministry for ONE SATURDAY. Please do get in touch with us if you want to be a part of this. To God Be The GLORY.
