HOPE STREET MINISTRY (JULY 2014)

HOPE Street Ministry continues to reach the homeless people in Kuala Lumpur to bring the gospel of Jesus to them. During the second outreach in July we were blessed once again with the opportunity to minister the love of God to our friends.

We began as usual with a time of worship followed by the sharing of the Word. This time, the message brought to our friends was about knowing the different voices that we experience in our daily lives i.e. the voice of Self, Others, the Devil and God. We gave them an understanding of the voices by a short drama presentation by our own volunteers. Aside from our One Voice volunteers, we also had William, a former student of Ps. Jacquie assist us as part of his project work of community service. We took time at the end of the message to lay hands and pray for our friends.

Before the food was handed out, we had a team of 3 pharmacists come and share their time with us by conducting free glucose and blood pressure tests. They took the time to advise our friends on the results and how to improve their readings and change their lifestyles.

Veron then took over with the volunteers after the meal time and lead our friends through some games where we had fun and fellowship. It is always nice to see the child in us come out!!

After the food packets for them to take away was handed out, we had 4 of our friends who stayed back to learn about the Jesus through our bible class that lasted about 20 minutes. We thank God that His grace enables us to do this ministry so that the name of Jesus is exalted and made known to those that are yet to know Him!!
